Beautiful park at Monument Lake, about 10 miles west of Weston. The Highway of Legends is very scenic both ways, from La Veta in the north or Trinidad in the east. Park has cabins, RV spots, and tent sites, all under big Ponderosa pine trees. The lake is stocked with trout every 10 days, and we managed to catch a bunch with salmon eggs.
